I've almost moved from being embarrasingly behind to normal behind 💞

A few things about this; Ohio requires opposite party affiliates to do a lot of tasks together. I spent all day, as a registered Dem and a queer woman, with someone with different pov but who deeply cared about enabling everyone to vote. It was nice to have that in common. We always should.

This is me after a 15 hour shift as a poll worker (530-830) in Cleveland, looking like garbage but garbage who got to say "thanks for voting" 889 times 🫶

Anyone figure out how to ease back into research writing after you've been creatively wrung out and still getting over some negative peer experiences? One at a time, I'm used to. Two at the same time is proving a little debilitating. And I seem to have promised people some drafts 🫠

As much as i love commuting on my bike it is bad for my nerves and mood. Today someone repeatedly laid on the horn because i was waiting in a left turn lane and turning left. That's it. Didn't cut him off or make him late. Light was red. A bike existed and that justifies intimidation with a machine.

I went the other path, and: teaching is much harder. The stakes are different. The human in front of you matters much more than that email or that plan. Teaching is a carefully crafted setpiece where the wire frames were hidden or shown strategically. It left me so drained. I miss it so much 😭
