It also kinda diminishes the unique skill sets of people who might actively consider themselves “content creators” because it flattens all the hard work that goes into the videos and podcasts—all the writing, the performing, the editing, the marketing, and on and on.

I think I personally dislike “content” because the word is intended to be solely consumer-facing. It implies it’s like video game loot, there for the taking and of no provenance. A project, a production, or art suggests that somebody applied specific skills to make it, and we can’t have that.
