Been sick the last few days, so cruising YouTube. There was a piece by "More Perfect Union" on that guy in Maine - Platner? Anyway, MPU sits down with him and 3 voters claiming they're undecided. One said he's voting according to the Bible. What the actual fuck?

How middle aged am I? There's a car partially obstructing my driveway, and I mean probably just under a metre. So I printed out the relevant legislation (Australian Road Rule 198) and stuck it under their windscreen wiper.

Happy Shane Warne Ball of the Century Day to all who celebrate, canât believe itâs been 33 years. As Graham Gooch once commented on Mike Gatting, âhe looked as though someone had just nicked his lunch, if it had been a cheese roll, it would never have got past him." đ

This single shipload of electric vehicles from BYD will cut Australia's annual fuel demand by at least 6 million litres This is what genuine fuel security looks like - not tanks of diesel and rushed trade deals, but cutting our exposure permanently to overseas fossil fuel supply.

An enormous ship docked in Melbourne on Sunday. Its cargo could permanently change Australian motoring
In a major flex of Chinese industrial muscle, a company has used its own purpose-built ship to respond to rampant demand from Australian consumers.

Saw a YouTube video positing what happens in the first hour after the internet goes down forever. It sounded pretty sweet. THEN the realisation struck that The Cookers would love the "cash is king" angle... Right up until they realised paper is worthless, too. So I loved it even more.

Hilarious to see Angus Taylor on TV this morning to say of Labor's budget that the ALP are "looking for the exits" when it comes to questions. Mate the LNP can't even find the entrance when it comes to elections.

Nearly 3 months of EV ownership. In a word: amazing. Having driven what was my dream car - a Nissan X-Trail - for the last 13 years, I'm still very fond of it. I'm also well aware that *any* new car would feel amazing by comparison. But this thing is just fucking amazing.

Tax the rich. Tax fossil fuels. Build renewables. Subsidise EVs. Exit AUKUS. Stop franking credits. Wind down capital gains tax benefits on property. Not difficult.

Saw Jimmy Carr last night. Yes, many of the jokes are at the top end of "acceptable" for many people. His delivery is great. And he is a bloody smart bloke, with a deep empathy, showing that we're all fairly complex characters, when we let ourselves be.

Someone in a local Dads group was asking about what AI tasks people were seeing at work; "what drives you crazy about things that aren't automated and need AI?" My response as someone also in tech >20 years:
