While it’s neat to see a ton of animated films outside Disney getting the chance to win a BAF Oscar, it shouldn’t come from a place of “Disney can suck it” but rather “Hey, these artists in other countries got their time in the sun, that doesn’t devalue the work of Disney/Pixar artists.”

I find the idea that we aren't supposed to talk about when people are jerks to us fascinating. Like, you publicly posted something crappy. It's fine to point and go "Hey, this is kinda crappy." Because we prioritize the feelings of jerks online over those they're assholes to.

I feel like it's the double-edged sword of being a public figure. If someone posts blatantly untrue and insulting shit about you, people seem to think you're no longer allowed to point out that the statements are untrue or insulting. Feels like we lose our humanity in the eyes of some folks :(
