Lore should serve the story, not the story serving the lore.

Speaking as a DM writing his own homebrew campaign with an original world - lore can be interesting and I love writing it, but it’s set dressing. My players care more about the story unfolding and how it affects them rather than the details they’re likely to forget, even if they serve that story.

We don’t need every question answered, or the backstory of every character a show puts out there. Not every detail is always important or meaningful. We don’t need to be spoon-fed everything; we can come up with our own conclusions and fill in the blanks.

Your art doesn't need to be 'perfect' to be good ✨️ Like how claymation often has finger prints of the animators in the clay snd how 70s Disney animation has some of the sketch lines visible, any 'imperfections' are a thumb print of your style and I find many of them so charming ❤️

Than having an "eye candy" character trying to appease the mass of people online. You'll never make everyone happy, so at least focus on your own enjoyment and own wants and needs out of your art. If you love that character? THAT'S WHAT MATTERS. You're the one who has them in your mind most often!

I did not realise ppl were legit out here giving "advice" to make ocs to cater to a wider audience... please, for the love of all things on this planet, make ocs that you can call your lovely blorbo children that you would die for. I promise that having ocs you fully enjoy is SO much more appealing-

Also, it's totally okay to be "cringe" ! Make that sparkle wolf, or character with demon form they can't control, or overpowered self-insert. Just have fun and create characters that make you happy! ✨🐊

Like someone once said "the only way to draw wrong is not drawing".

- Don’t try to copy your reference image line for line, you will not succeed in making it look the exact same. Don’t be afraid to make adjustments YOU think will make the image look better. - Ocassional tracing and using bases are not the devil. Sometimes they can even help you learn.

Art is play. Please have fun making things. Make them badly, messy, weird. Make it self-indulgent or cringey; just make it yours. If you are sincere about what you're making and you're having fun then that's all that matters.

please DO NOT EVER EVER EVER listen to those "how to make an OC that people will like" or "fixing someone's art" avoid them like the plague, be yourself and have fun there will always be an audience for your character even if it's really small (but is yours and you do whatever you want)

It tied up everything in a neat little bow, left just enough room for intrigue and mystery so the audience couldn’t draw definitive conclusions, and gave us characters with satisfying arcs. Always leave em wanting more, as opposed to the gluttony of ever diminishing returns. Crave something new.

It’s sadly becoming increasingly harder to find cartoon reviewers/YouTubers who generally make videos where they just talk positively about animation and not trying to cater to an audience of cynical reactionaries.
