In the second half of 2026, Amazon MGM will have its international distribution up and running after relying on WB and Sony for distribution outside the US. That’s when MGM can reclaim its major studio status, putting it alongside Paramount, Sony, Disney, Universal, and WB.

The only thing I will say about the current film criticism discourse is I don't like the increase in buzzwords being used in professional reviews. Why am I seeing terms like "slop" and "jingling keys" in IndieWire reviews? Did they hire Harry Knowles?

While I don’t like the Ellisons and what they’re doing at Paramount Skydance, I don’t want Paramount the STUDIO to shut down just because I dislike the Ellisons. They just need to not merge with WB and focus on exciting films again. This studio and its legacy deserve better.

Since Bugs Bunny is in this, I hope he has some fun interactions with Wile E., since they've interacted in the original shorts before (an UNDERRATED Looney Tunes pairing btw)

Coyote vs Acme is thankfully going the Back in Action route, where the Looney Tunes characters are spread out to have them feel as close to the original personalities and dynamics as possible, as opposed to Space Jam's ensemble (in A New Legacy's case, "family") route.

The most intriguing part is that this will be the first Paramount animated film since 2011’s Rango and Tintin that’s helmed by a live-action director making his animation directing debut. It could lead to something refreshing and cool like those two. We’ll have to wait and see.

While there is the elephant in the room (Skydance), I must say, I dig the designs, especially the humans like Raymond Gunn. They look nothing like the humans from Bird’s Incredibles and Ratatouille, or Skydance’s previous projects. A 2D film would’ve been cool, but I like this.

TIL WordWorld got a remake in Brazil called “Planeta Palavra”, where the characters are made of Portuguese words. Makes sense because the original show was built on using the English language, so it wouldn’t translate well through simply dubbing.

So sad that this happened, because not only were there 450 people at the studio at the time of its closure, but Blue Sky was the sole major animated film studio located on the East Coast of the US. It allowed a certain degree of freedom from typical Hollywood studio drama.
