Our electric bill is over $500 this month, a jump from our usual $90-$100 monthly budget. This is insane. We're literally paying for these trash data centers. We live in a small two bedroom apartment with a broken AC. Our average usage has been very small. Fuck this.

At this point I really can't understand why anyone would support generative ai. Even if you're greedy enough to excuse all the harm it's already done and it's connection to the most corrupt people in the tech industry, it still has yet to turn a profit. Supporting ai is both cruel and dumb.
