1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics. It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT. It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse. Transgender care saves lives.

The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

I went on hiatus from here, came back to the CEO having a public meltdown, left again, came back to a prominent poster being banned for calling them out. Maybe its time to be done with social media.

Yeah pretty important call out. Tech is constantly putting the cart before the horse because hype is more valuable to them before product. Add to that that no talent agency is going to want this "actor" because a real Meryl will always be worth more than a fake "Tilly"

Rather than permitting the Trump administration to frighten us out of resisting, we must understand this broad, vague, and performative executive order as an effort to intimidate. It should catalyze us into urgent organizing, not paralyze us. Only collective action can keep us safe and free.

for the harm reduction bit--self harm includes obvious stuff like cutting, but also like scrolling bigoted comments, or looking at pictures of photoshopped celebrities. seeking dangerous liaisons, etc. these aren't INEVITABLY self harm, but they can be, and people often don't recognize it as such

Entertainment executives are consistently the dumbest most out of touch people, second to tech executives. I've worked with both industries and was underwhelmed by the business side of both.

Canada still allows military goods to be sold to Israel, has yet to even recognize the genocide in Gaza, though it “strongly condemns” what is going on over there (wow, chilling). But it’s definite hardline action barring an Irish musical group from the country because we don’t tolerate terrorists.

there really is something inherently abusive about AI. Buying into the hype means you are perpetually gaslighting your workers while desperately explaining away its faults as if they're either your own or your employees. Very nasty stuff.

That’s how censorship operates in the USA (and many places) government pressure is used to force people & groups to self-censor. It’s a constant pattern: The majority of censorship is self-censorship, but the majority of self-censorship is deliberately cultivated by an outside power. It’s the goal

by 1958 by a man strolling in downtown Los Angeles, CA, during a smog outbreak. The women at left wipe away tears with handkerchiefs. The Clean Air Act of 1970 dramatically reduced the eye-watering smog that had plagued the city since the 1940s.

Great call out. There's definitely some Earle in there as well. Besides Blair, I'd say Earle and Wong have the longest shadows in the industry.
