BREAKING: Police just surrounded Rev. William Barber, prominent activist and pastor, as he and others prayed in the U.S. Capitol Rontunda. Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them. I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.

Massive turnout for the Hands Off rally in DC. People as far as the eye could see.

The DC Council is investigating the DOGE invasion of the U.S. Institute of Peace on March 17th. The DC Chief of Police has begrudgingly admitted DC MPD were called by USIP personnel at 2:59 PM, an hour before Ed Martin rang them up to help the DOGE attack.

This is an excellent and really valuable overview of everything wrecked at HHS.

Asked a friend who's an immigrant economist about one of these shops that we're both fond of. His response? "They're so fucked." I realize that's more feature than bug to Trump and Musk, but that's a recipe for so much misery. A guided missile at cultural hubs that fuel local economies.

Today, the judge denied the motion to stop the transfer of the USIP building (which was built with private donations) to the government. Part of the reason was...that the transfer had already occurred, on Saturday, making the plea to stop it "moot."
