More evidence B-schools are merely a way to legitimate/promote the pursuit of profit as a "career." They teach, they attract big bucks, they enable networking...but they DO NOT EDUCATE Honestly floored by the claim that this is a way to talk to the past. But what do I know. I'm just a historian

Here's an Ivy league business school prof cheerfully touting an LLM trained on Victorian era texts as a way to "talk to the past" and how this is for some reason better than an LLM role playing a Victorian NO. YOU ARE NOT 'TALKING TO THE PAST' IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM h/t

That UK government ever considers asserting its contractual rights against a major supplier is rare and welcome. And here, this is especially welcome. This will not be easy but it can be done, but it is good it is being seriously considered at all.

I'm a fan of both Les Chiffres & The Numbers, so this is sent with all respect. Avi Lewis' first name is pronounced UH'vee not Eh-VYE. The 'av' comme la première syllabe du mot « avion », & then 'vee', not 'vye'. Stress on the first syllable.

Enough with the FALSE CHOICE between increasing infill density or increasing the urban tree canopy. BOTH are not only possible, but absolutely necessary. Good design is the key. The real design challenge isn’t building density or the space needed for trees… it’s the space we still surrender to cars.

Wild story. A woman has children by two sperm donors, who turn out to have fathered 600+ children between them &—are themselves father & son. Oh, kicker, she didn’t go to a formal donation place, so it’s referred to as an ‘artisanal donation’. Handmade, I guess.
