Personally, if I found myself being paid by billionaires to make little videos defending billionaires and attacking any progressive attempt to lift the fortunes of poor people, I would question my life choices. I guess that's why I'm not making the big money.

Unfortunately no, serving billions is a “waaaaaay down the road” issue. As someone with a bit of experience here, the issue is that it is HARD to get people to change habits. Having people switch - even when they say directly that it’s what they want to do! - is an extremely uphill battle.

Would that AI was a mere hype bubble, but what used to be NSA level surveillance dragnets is now possible for a few hundreds of dollars. It is really important that AI opponents engage start understanding how reliable the capabilities already are and how they will be used against them.
