AREA CUP winning weapons updated 🔄 Yesterday’s AREA CUP was a record-breaking tournament, with three new weapons joining the winners’ club: iBow (tkf), v96 (Rusu), and vDapple (Neespa). In addition, two more weapons from past tournaments—Forge (Livia) and WNT-R (Lobster)—were added. #compsplatoon

Race to Crown has now completed 17 of 24 tournaments this season. With the points from yesterday’s championship, Lobster has secured his spot for next year’s AREA CUP Crown with 193 points. This is the earliest qualification ever—an absolute monster. Actual points in the thread. #compsplatoon

I wanted to ask the western comp splatoon community, is there an upcoming lan tournament next march? I’m planning to visit the states around that time, and I’d love to come and spectate if there is one.

I’m currently planning to create a system, similar to a rating system, to seed Area Cup participants and place players in fair positions. If there are any references I could read, I’d appreciate your suggestions. The attached image shows what I’ve been trying out. #compsplatoon

Here is the comparison with last seasons Race to Crown, with Lobster and Todo, the current top 2 runners making outstanding achievements (Calculated with current point system). Lobster have already gained exact same points he got from 15 tournaments, but with 11 tournaments already. #compsplatoon

Almost half of the Race to Crown Seasons 25/26 is complete (#31 to #41, regular tournaments only — 11 out of 24). I’ve made this crown points progression graph. The top 20 are listed in order. When you’ve caused so much hurt to a community, and your friends are trying to enable you to come back so you can help them win a tourney, then they are not actually your friend. They are someone who is using you for their benefit. A real friend would help you grow, away from the scene you damaged.

I'm not great at statements for stuff like this, nor should my voice be the the main one for this discussion today, but I wanted to briefly speak on the tournament situation today. If anything is unclear or needs clarification please let me know in the replies and I will try to clarify.

Seems like Todo won’t be competing in tomorrow’s AREA CUP for his 5th consecutive title. Pretty sad to hear, but Lobster will be going for his 4th, again. I’m really excited to see the tournament, and there will actually be a big announcement after (or during) the event. Be sure to check it out!

I really appreciate what BEEP is doing. Shows that discuss tournaments and community-related topics like this are rare in both English and Japanese, at least from what I know. It’s become part of my routine since it airs around 10am for me. I would like to contribute in some way.

Tiramisu and Todo definitely started the trend. Rentana actually proved 2 Haunt works before Tiramisu's team won. (not for any deep reason, he just felt fun after scrimming them). Then Tiramisu and later Wasabeef with Todo made the strat look even more solid.

It's pretty interesting that the last 3 area cups all had two haunt gear users on the winning team 🤔

Mint has now won area cup 5 times, making it clear it’s a top-tier weapon, but ppl need to realize. This record was set entirely by one player, Todo. He’s the one who’s truly broken.
