Like I pride myself on having a good memory for mechanics (can't remember what happened last week but I sure can remember this), but there's a couple of duties that I constantly have to look up bc I can *never* remember how tf they work. I have been strugglin with them zus in Pharos Sirius for years

-The Lament for Icarus - #GPOSERS

"A Light in the Storm". Because it only plays in that one FUCKASS optional lvl50 dungeon, Pharos Sirius. That dungeon drives me nuts but the song is incredible and has impeccable Dayir vibes for me.

Also, ARR isn't an expansion per se but I gotta shout it out anyway. I've played thru ARR five times now (either 2 or 3 of those times was pre-rework) & I just find it so charming. Gaming is my main hobby; I have the time for it. I don't care that it's "a slog". I just love being in Eorzea. Period.

Endwalker bc it gave me Thavnair (my most beloved location since way back when I first learned it existed, and Dayir's home) AND Garlemald, & also made me feel indescribable things (that Venat cutscene, Meteion/Endsinger, etc). Also, Reaper!Zenos. Also, the Ragnarok. I just love & feel loved by it.

I think my favorite part is truly this skeleton. Cackling mad. Engaging in shenanigans. Death's skeletons being silly and playful delight me to no end.

I gotta be honest man if your takeaway is that you hate ARR that much then I seriously doubt the game in general is for you. It's the base template of literally everything that comes after. It's not going to turn into a fundamentally different game.

On the Steppe she is Dayir ak-rhono khadan Mol, which is less a gov't name and more a signifier of her clan ties, but it IS what she considers her full name. In the records of the Allagan lab in which she was made, she is called "Project Usir"; her primal form is similarly called Ausir.

Dayir is me, yes. This is why I use the word "avatar" for her, never "OC". "Godshard" is also appropriate, but that's even more of a niche term than avatar is, so. If anything, SHE's whispering ideas into ME, lol; it rly is like Azem learning the immense variety of existence through its soul-shards.

Dayir is about half a head shorter than Zenos. She was engineered by Allagans and was made in their height range (right after the Sundering Hyur & Hyur-adjacent ppl were around Ancient height still, and got shorter thru the ages). She's never minded her height bc she's never rly had resaon to.

Loved Strange Harvest (all hail the Leech King 🙌🏿), Send Help was a really fun time (I thank god every day for the existence of Sam Raimi), enjoyed Residue despite everything, was SO goddamn frustrated by Bad Things.

I was on Ellipsus last night trying to make a lore primer for Dayir and I had to stop two paragraphs in because I got overwhelmed. Not even in a bad way, it's just... there's So Much. I don't even know how to begin. And everything about her excites me so much I have to get up and pace about it.

Shai (who exists in place of Tataru in my 'verse) does the lil thumping thing that bunnies sometimes do, and she fucking HAAATES it. It only happens when she's frustrated or anxious and she tries so hard to suppress it. She also flops when comfortable, and her lop ears are very quirky & expressive.

I want to look at Dayir so I'm posting her. This was for a mutual's bday event which I'm glad I braved my beloathed nemesis Gpose (Savage) for because I missed spending an hour just studying my most prettiest avatar.

Re: How TF Do They Sleep, I think a lot of the more blessed-in-the-horn-and-tail-dept Au Ra just sleep similar to how Ananta do. It's also more space-economical, which is valuable when there's like 12 of you in a dwelling. Dayir's preference for laying down/reclining is bc she's a princess. 😂

Don't get me started. I've been losing sleep (lol) over the How TF Do They Sleep question since DA's Qunari. Dayir's horns are ram-style (so she can only lay on her back) and her tail is thick (so she can't lay on her back). It's a fkn ridiculous conundrum so it's a good thing she doesn't sleep. 😑
