relatedly to lrp i do laugh whenever people are like "the character is ooc" about something that happens in canon. buddy thats now ic whether we like it or not its canon

like, even in cases where writers really fuck up with a given character (and even cases where this might be the best description, like a new writer taking over) i think one has to be very cautious of thinking of the character as a living person that exists independently of how they are written
