Not firing Berube (and Tre for that matter) as soon as the Olympic break started and using the month of February to get people in place to set your new franchise direction is inexcusable.

Just to crunch some numbers on this. Of the Leafs last 20 games before the break, Cowan played in all of the first 16, mostly playing around 10-11 minutes. He played 9:44 in Seattle then didn’t play the rest of the road trip. 9:44 of NHL time in a month instead of 8 games in the AHL. Awful.
