I think I’ve realized that when it comes to making art and being trans, I’ve long maintained that I’ll make some art about being trans because it’s important to my life story and I don’t want to hide it…but also none of that will change a transphobe’s mind about me.

What was on my mind when making this strip is how trans women get stigmatized in dating, and how lustful and ashamed straight and transphobic men are for wanting us, making it deadly to simply be perceived. We are only good as your dirty little secret, and you would spit on us in broad daylight.

Color the world. Bigots will claim that drawing chalk on sidewalks wont do anything. Art always does something. Even if it's the tiniest tag on the back of a stop sign. It can speak to people who might stumble upon it. Keep coloring the world and telling your stories through art pieces all over.
