Finally got @sebastianbae.bsky.social 's Littoral Commander: The Baltic to the table. Pretty sure I made all the mistakes, but a fascinating peek behind the curtain of modern warfare. Russians were victorious in Gotland Redux, nearly wiping out an entire ARG for just a few losses. Really enjoyed it!

Another of the Japanese games learned and played. This is Shiju Torite, a trick taker with cool twists. Your cards are openly drafted with your bid cards mixed in, so you openly commit to your plans while the other players know which cards you draft. Very cool, lots to think about!

Let's talk #AI and #wargaming. There's a lot of hype around AI-enabled wargaming -- from adversary emulation to straight up designing games. I think there's a lot of value to be leveraged at a cost. But we need to be clear eyed in what AI is -- and what it can and cannot do. 🧵
