Universal government-paid-for health care is one of the best ways to guarantee a healthy, available work force, which benefits the economy. People who don't have to pay for expensive medical/hospital care SPEND that money elsewhere, benefitting everyone.

There is far more to this than jobs. Saab is offering the intellectual property and full control of the Gripens we buy. That alone should be enough to seal the deal. The Canadian companies that make parts for the F35 could easily make parts for the Gripen.
