Mediocre fan writer, lapsed historian, occasional bureaucrat. Reply guy on Swedish Bluesky.
Even better some times they didn’t even have any food to cook! Big energy saving, much rest.

Half convinced the mongol invasions of Japan happened because Kublai Khan took one look at his ambassador’s reports on how long it took them to just find the right guy to talk to and went “this is offensively stupid”

Pierre Louis Alexandre (he may have swedified is surname to Alexandersson at the end of his life) is probably one of the most portrayed non-royals in Swedish 19th century portraiture which is really cool.

Another great design decision ANDOR does: a lot of the Coruscant we see feels like the brutalist parts of London and other European cities? And I think Brutalism actually works great for sci fi. Easy to make things look kinda weird, but you also see the logic of the building.

There‘s also absolute lack of media literacy where people routinely expect plot twists from it akin to soaps like Grey‘s Anatomy which is a total failure to read genre paired with it being a show that doesn‘t spell everything out for you - that people then want to read like a puzzle box as well. /3

1/6. No, this is wrong. Not about the fuck up - it was HUGE - but the nature of the Worldcon is that each one is its own organization. The Glasgow Worldcon addressed the Chengdu fuck-up head on and was a model of transparency and went a great way to restore the credibility of the award.

In the beginning, the gaps between British food discourse were lasting 24 days, then 12, then 6, then every 2 days. The last post, on whether catfish and chips was antisemitic, was a day. In 4 days, we could be seeing a new topic every 8 hours. We should witness a double discourse within 7 days.

A man who built a career as a public intellectual by adamantly calling people delusional for believing in God has now started believing a machine is his special friend, and doesn't see the irony at all. Heron of Alexandria, who made the idols of his day walk and open doors, would be impressed.
