Can’t believe the show got this wrong. Punisher clearly has a Marines tattoo in this scene but he’s canonically Coast Guard. If he were a Marine, he’d be able to beat Captain America at their annual tug of war competition. The comics make it clear that that has never happened.

I don’t understand how we can allow this to be legal. I guess we need to make electricity a public utility if something like this is going on.

Around 2001 there were two separate but wonderful talking gorilla superhero comics. If you can find either Rex Mantooth (early Andy Kuhn and Matt Fraction, published by Robert Kirkman!) or Sky Ape, I strongly recommend these comics. Get hunting!

Gerry Conway has passed at 73. He leaves an incredible legacy. Co-creator of Punisher, Power Girl, Firestorm, Killer Croc, Jason Todd, Ms. Marvel. He also wrote a lot of tv including Law & Order. Best remembered for The Night Gwen Stacy Died? Probably? My condolences to his family and friends.

I just made an episode of my show that includes some talk of the Spider-Man comic strip in the newspapers and came across a weird thing. A colorist that had clearly never heard of Wolverine.

I am a big fan of the combo of Bilquis Evelyn’s detailed yet delicate line art and Matheus Lopes’ dazzling yet restrained color palette. It’s damn close to the 60/30/10 color theory filmmakers like Wes Anderson ascribe to. What artist/colorist teams are your favorite?

Arcane Comics in Seattle announced they’re closing. Since I’ve moved here, I’ve seen three other stores I used to shop at close: Comics Dungeon, Zanadu, and Dreamstrands. This is an area that seems to love comics. Portland has lots of great shops. Not sure why Seattle can’t make it work.
