People say they want Magic novels back. That we want the web fiction, which is free, to co-exist with paid, longer works that have a stricter editorial schedule and require Wizards to lock down a single author long periods of time. We get that by proving we're willing to pay for it.

The single best thing you can do for Magic fiction right now, even if you don't read YA, don't like Arcavios, or personally hate me as a writer, is pre-ordering this book. That sends a message. A very clear one, that is unlikely to be ignored.

The economics of books aren't quite the same as the economics of card sets. They cost less, but involve more dedicated work by one person, which means that in most cases, they take longer. A book represents a major leap of faith for a franchise like Magic. Let's earn it.
