Don't be jealous, but I never watched Grey's Anatomy or any version of The L Word. Which means I've now got 422 hours of TV to look forward to. That's 17.5 days or just over a month of hermitizing, if I sleep.

I wish Mom had lived to see this heartening act of love by

No one's blaming Democrats for causing this crisis, but yes, many of them are failing to meet this moment. One Democratic senator could bring the chamber to a halt. House Dems can go to fed agencies being gutted by Musk with cameras in tow. Governors can push back. State AGs can bring lawsuits.

It feels worth emphasizing that these websites being taken down aren’t some federal worker’s hobby, or an agency’s side project. They exist as matters of policy, some directly mandated in law, some through government contracts. Taking them down is fundamentally illegitimate and autocratic.

I read that interview with
@amyklobuchar.com
in the NYT. She's using an outdated playbook. She's trying to play by the rules with craven people who are breaking laws & ignoring the Constitution. She & all Dems need to step up their game & take much more dramatic action. WAKE UP & DO SOMETHING!

Second, resistance doesn't have to be a dramatic act. It can be a small act, like losing a sheet of paper, taking your time processing something, not serving someone in a restaurant. Small acts taken by thousands have big effects.

The actual size and shape of a book holds an abstract weight for me. The graphic templates that incorporate a book’s cover graphics, but don’t match the rough page count feel really off. Not quite deceptive, but misleading. Can anyone relate?
