The ultra-wealthy never want to give up their money. That's been true of human beings since the rise of homo sapiens. They have to be forced to do so.

I believe the DEA doesn't seize the boats because it strongly suspects they'll find no illegal drugs aboard and lose the reason for interdiction. Trump doesn't risk that outcome by just illegally blowing up the boats and murdering their crews.

I think this is where the real resistance may show up. Trump can force DOJ to bring charges against his critics but he can't force juries/grand juries to bend to his will.

It's particularly the case among the Americans who are paid to decide which news is important, and who despite everything still can't bring themselves to accurately describe the fact that the president is serially murdering people and our systems are unable to stop him
