The Court asked some tough questions of the government at our hearing for #BadarKhanSuri. To recap: I filed the writ of habeas corpus challenging the legality of Dr. Suri's arrest at 5:59 PM on 3/18/2025. After we filed, we found out that he had touched down in Louisiana about an hour before.

In yet another spectacle of government inefficiency and hate, Trump is starting to turn the US into a "show me your papers" state. Yes, that's right. An oft-forgotten law requires all noncitizens to register with the government, and file regular changes of address within 10 days of moving.

I don't know who needs to hear this but I've been an immigration lawyer for more than 20 years and never met a client who crossed the border and got free government handouts.

Buried on p142 of #Project2025 is the recommendation to expand the use of "Blackie's warrants" in immigration enforcement. Named after a 1981 DC case, a Blackie's warrant is a civil judicial warrant which allows ICE to enter a workplace and question workers suspected of being undocumented.

P2025 is being executed in real time. We're seeing the tip of the iceberg. The majority of changes are out of sight of most of us: 1 - rearranging/purging agency personnel 2 - consolidation of agencies 3 - politicization 4 - due process elimination We won't recognize America once they're done.
