I never remember anyone saying “Did you see the latest Reiner?” like you would hear with Spielberg, Cameron, etc. But undoubtedly made one of your favorite movies. He had a special eye for humanity that built cinematic cathedrals from small-scale stories like MISERY and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.
