If your response to the Montreal shooter is āHeāS fRoM AlBeRtA!ā, youāre dodging the issue. The problem is how widespread manosphere/incel content has become online, and how long itās been ignored. Pointing at Alberta is just moral posturing that allows you to avoid confronting a serious problem.

If Poilievre wants to know what has stoked Alberta separatism, it seems to me he could look at: a) U.S. interference; b) the type of grievance politics his own party actively promotes; and c) Danielle Smith's leadership in Alberta itself

All my life Iāve seen the Alberta government and many people in the province blame Ottawa for things that are actually provincial. Iāve been thinking that if people want to blame the federal government for everything, then maybe we should just hand those powers over to the feds. I am over it.

Alberta separatism is the endpoint of the right wing radio/podcast post-truth ecosystem: a vocal and violent minority trying to tear everything down out of a belief that being petty lords over rubble is preferable to the tyranny of bike lanes and public transit.
