There's a lot of negatives about AAA gaming these days, but it is nice to know that at least FromSoft and Capcom have a standard of quality you can usually count on.

I've definitely desensitized myself to horror games by doing my horror game marathon back in October. I kinda wish that that didn't happen, because then the earlier parts of RE9 would have felt higher stakes. Eventually you start to see the seams and it breaks the immersion.

Finished RE9. Unreal level of polish that they achieved and also maybe one of the most ambitious projects in terms of trying to create a cohesive experience with 2 completely different gameplay perspectives.

I will say that the puzzles and general design up to this point in RE9 has been PAINFULLY simple. Unless you are solving the blood test puzzles for upgrades, the majority of puzzles in the game are nearly straight line fetch quests for codes or objects which is disappointing.

So far RE9 has been good. I forgot this is an RE Engine game though, so it will just crash to desktop if it hits my VRAM limit.

After brainstorming, next CBD will have some adjustments: 1. Find a more suitable table setup so the DJ Cam has games as a backdrop. (while avoiding trip hazards) 2. Having a monitor is necessary af in that room. Cement floors are making things bounce like crazy. 3. Curate prior to playing.
