In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.

Who's Who editor Robert Greenberger was a fan of Love and Rockets and asked Jaime Hernandez @xaimeh.bsky.social if he was interested in drawing something for DC's Who's Who. Jamie said yes he'd like to draw Legionnaires. Thus, comic fans were privileged to get these two pieces.

I love making comics so much. I love figuring out the pacing, how much to show vs tell, composing each panel and the page as a whole, clever little sound effects or lettering touches, finding ways to streamline the process without compromising quality. ☺️ Ideal story-telling medium if you ask me.

Try to figure out how a scene could work with no dialogue, and then taking breaks, imagine it a couple more times until you get to the most interesting way to show it play out. Now you're telling the story visually. Reward yourself with the possibility of some dialogue

re: studio proteus lettering: i am always trying to push my lettering in these scholastic books into a studio proteus hand drawn direction as much as i can/am able. you know, like, not for everything, but especially for characters yelling. it's really present in finding myself with you. it's fun~
