They are very good but rarely does a British version even from one of the best breweries achieve the Horlicksy malt character the Bavarian ones have. Only a handful manage it. I don't know the reason.

I had a blast today at the Garrett Oliver "meet the brewer" event at the King's Arms in London, not only because I met Garrett Oliver, but also because I had a great time talking to @thornbridgedom.bsky.social, @longm8.bsky.social and @willhawkes.bsky.social.

Yesterday we had a delivery of cow manure that's so good it's making grown men cry (me). This stuff is unbelievable quality. Well rotted, rich and dark, this is some of the best manure I've worked with. Alan, 87, on plot A2b, reckons he hasn't seen manure this good since before 'that COVID carry-on'

One of the big days of the allotment calendar complete, with the main plot fully tilled, two rows of potatoes in and the broad beans planted out. This year's spuds are Acoustic, Alouette, Ratte, Anya and Winston 🥔🥔🥔

At some point around 8am we hit 2,000 signatures on our petition to get cask ale recognised as living heritage by the UK government. 8,000 to go to get an official response, 98,000 to get a debate in Parliament! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...
