9) Oromet - The Sinking Isle (funeral doom) "Epic" doesn't really do it justice. "Huge" doesn't either. This is a gargantuan record, and yet, even though it is slow, it feels hopeful. Such is Oromet's skill, they can make something that's typically so heavy feel uplifting.

#20 Oromet - The Sinking Isle Funeral Doom There were some solid doom releases this year, and despite how late in the year it released, I really enjoyed Oromet's offering. Suffocatingly strong funeral doom will almost always grab my attention. I love an oppressive feeling in my music. #metalsky

Done! That was interesting. It's BlackMetal of the Doom-ish variety and big on atmosphere. It feels slow and dreary, but there is a drive behind this and cool details in the guitarwork, that make it very engaging. Really nice, quite frankly! Highly recommended!
