Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

WATCH: If you REALLY want to understand a BIG reason why cycling [aka riding a bike] is so dangerous in North America, and one of the biggest villains in the origin story of our unsafe status quo, invest some time watching this one, by NOT JUST BIKES (aka

In my brief block by block encounters with crossing guards I see how drivers menace them, inching towards. What a whole shift must be like. The Premier and other politicians, Toronto Police, other forces, have taken the lid of all this. A death drive amid other bs rhetoric of public safety.

Have you heard of “The Populist Playbook?” A few years ago, I posted what I still consider one of my most important messages. It was about “The Populist Playbook” that I’ve watched play out often over my 33+ years of city planning. Since then, it’s only gotten worse. Do the steps sound familiar?

About half of the teens surveyed believe that journalists frequently “make up details, such as quotes” and “pay for sources.” More than a third of teens believe journalists could improve by simply “Telling the truth,” “Fact checking,” and “Not lying.”

Harbord cyclists beware: in the new lanes some sewer grates have been put in the death position by contractors. This @ Manning just ate my tire but luckily was coming to a stop. Jarring still. At speed I’d be over the handlebars. There were others along way.

How many kids were almost hit by cars last night? Imagine if, the day after Halloween, news outlets started reporting on how many kids almost got hit by cars. A near miss with a car is more serious than a near miss with a piece of metal in a piece of candy, yet one of these things is always ignored.

This feels crazy to me because one of the lasting lessons of high school and journalism school was the hierarchy of sources. Primary sources are the gold standard. LLMs are absolutely not a reliable source of information. It's well known that they hallucinate and this writer should know better.
