This scene always makes me lose my mind: watch how Scorsese reduces the widescreen frame effectively to 4:3 by surrounding every character in this cross-cut dialogue scene by sets of two candles. Genius.

Every college football broadcast is filled with countless talking heads discussing the sport. Given the makeup of the team rosters, it is ridiculous (and shameful) how few of the TV commentators are Black.

Just heard the news about Graham Greene, and I don't know what I can add to the tributes beyond this: The man was a legend for a reason. He inhabited his early roles with charisma and clarity, then let his own charm seep through his performances once he knew audiences trusted him.

What a huge loss in the world. Graham Greene brought characters to life and authentic representation to the big screen. RIP, Mr. Greene.
