Went for pie at a local pub this afternoon and was served by a witch who wore one contact lens and whose cuffs went in my gravy. They seated us right next to a wooden box too with a plaque etched with a woman’s name. A framed photo of an old woman was on said box. We figured it was her ashes.

Damn it. 28 horror movies in 31 days. I blame that Scorsese doc that sucked up 5 hours stopping me from reaching 31.

Day 8, #hARToween25 Famous Movie Monsters 😈🎨🦇 Close, but not quite. I tried & tried, and now hate Elsa Lanchester's absolutely AMAZING face a teensy bit. It is *really* unique & hard to draw! I guess next time I should do the graph or something more technical/exact, instead of freehand like I do.

I still have the US uncorrected proof of this book sent to me by the super cool @jesselawrence.bsky.social. Then I purchased the deluxe signed edition in velvet filigree. Both editions are dear to my heart. Let’s see if the adaptation makes it into one its chambers too.

Yes, I agree. If you forget why you started writing, you run the risk of losing the spark & drive. I LOVE telling stories & that's what drives my writing. The ideas that excite me, the characters I create, the worlds they inhabit... it's all about the writing. Otherwise I can't think clearly.

I really feel this. That's why I've been writing stories for myself this year without any plans to publish them. It's helped my state of mind because at the end of the day, it's all about the writing.

I’d take a small win right now. A beam of sunlight. A cool beer. An empty road. A green traffic light. A good movie. An untangled stomach knot. A perfect grape. A smile from a stranger. A kiss from my child. A whisper instead of shriek. A kind gesture. A hush. A day with gunfire.
