IMO its not a lack of hobbies thats the problem, its that every hobby is now a GIG. That thing you do for fun? Well monetize it, run a tiktok, take commissions, get that 2nd or 3rd source of income going on top of your 9-5. The things that we once did for joy are now part of our survival

This is what makes a pro writer. Inspiration strikes are like embers you have to work to grow. Just like drawing, or cooking, or anything else creative, you have to sit with it even when it’s not going how you want. Realizing what doesn’t work, tossing it, and trying again, this is how it gets done.

Thinking about how one of the most valuable things I've learned from trying to write is that I just have to sit with the discomfort and frustration of not being able to write, and persist with the attempt anyway, until I finally get something done no matter how small and incremental it may be.
