If you use AI to do the parts of writing that aren’t your favorite you will 100% be a worse writer. Bad at pacing and using AI to fix that? Great, now you have never actually learned pacing. Bad at descriptions? Sweet, you have no idea how descriptions reveal character. You actually just suck.

lit mags and publishers need to be more afraid of saying they accept work that uses AI. we should be bullying them.

The problem isn't that generativeAI will get so good it will replace artists. It can't and never will. The problem is that uncreative and incurious people will flood every venue with so much regurgitated slop that no artist has a chance of ever being seen or found.
