Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act. The absolute tumbleweed from the media & gov shows just how much they want to bury how much disabled people fought and still fight for our rights.

We also had an hour wait at the station for our train home. As we missed the previous one by 10 mins. This all drains energy which I have less off. Today I can't do anything I'm exhausted and in pain. Was worth it tho.

1 reason I think there's so much pushback to the increase in Autism/ADHD diagnoses is the fear that NTs will stop being 'the norm' + that systems will need to change to not centre on NT ways of being. My gf having emergency surgery was not on my bingo card for this week. Keeping a brave face whilst being terrified inside is one of the hardest things I've ever done. The relief when she came back to the ward, our eyes met + I knew she was ok. I couldn't hold back my tears.

A great example of why @zackpolanski.bsky.social not being an MP is changing the game. He isn't entirely focused and concerned with protecting his own livelihood. He is able to do this because he isn't an MP, travel to Clacton and actually listen to people. Total respect for this move.

Frankly my dear, I'm just exhausted of explaining that we are all complicit in an oppressive system that was designed to benefit some and provide access barriers to others. I'm tired of people taking this as an attack on their integrity. I'm not the enemy, that's the system protecting itself. *Sigh*

It causes resentment to build too. People hate being reminded they are being exclusionary. It causes cognitive dissonance and the easiest way for them to deal with that is to get rid of the cause of it. I've been disciplined, fired, banned from an event. Complain too much + you get cut out.
