It's that time of year again! Here's my `atuin wrapped`

not easily with bash. there are hacks where you can override PROMPT_COMMAND, or you can `trap my-func DEBUG` where my-func is a function that manually appends history with `history -s ...`. I'd recommend just talking a look at atuin by @ellie.wtf - it's a crazy cool shell hist project.

atuin means never having to save your shell scripts to a file.

if you know how useful something like rundeck is, you can grok how cool this is, gang.

Atuin Desktop just got a brand new runtime! Runbooks are now - reproducible (context flows down, no global state) - persistent (state survives restarts) - executable anywhere (CI, remote machines, anything) This is the first step towards making runbooks an actual automation primitive

Atuin Desktop now has tabs! We've been working hard to get this ready for open beta, and making it feel like a real editor is important In recent weeks, we've also released support for local, file based workspaces - check them into a git repo, sync them however you want

So last week I discovered @atuin.sh by @ellie.wtf and it's fucking awesome. I was going to write a whole thing to sync my shell history to my NAS and now I don't need to. 10/10 would recommend.

If you haven’t used @atuin.sh it’s well worth looking into! Rock solid shell history search and sync. One of the first things I install onto a new machine and then it quietly works perfectly, waiting for me to need it.

Fun fact! The Atuin logo is the wonderful work of @andycarolan.bsky.social and it was seeing this that led me to reach out to Andy to design the dogs you see in my more recent blog posts 😁
