As someone who has always had to fight the foolish urge to clean up HTML output formatting when he does web stuff, this is a dream come true.

Coming in Air 0.32, released hopefully tomorrow! To make reading HTML output easier, we will have features for converting dense HTML to pretty printed HTML! All credit goes to github.com/tallerasaf for the PR and @willmcgugan.bsky.social for the rich library its built on.

Today I started over on a project in a new branch/PR. Doing so allowed me to go super fast because: 1. I now had a deep understanding of the spec 2. In the new branch I only had to good stuff 3. I don't need to worry about git cleanup, it's all new 4. It forced me to take a break

I've now had to answer multiple times why I stuck with VSCode and never seriously considered Cursor or another faddish alternative.

For the past week my personal site has had weird slowdowns and freezing problems. Nothing has changed in the deployment. @getsentry isn't reporting anything and there's nothing significant in the server logs. Later today I'll rebuild the server and see if that fixes it.

Unpopular opinion: pre-commit is a pain not worth the trouble unless you are dealing with a codebase where CI takes minutes instead of seconds Also, I've see beginners struggling with it so that adds in my negative feelings about gatekeeping.

I've figured that @airwebframework.bsky.social works with React in production, for anyone needing to use it that way 🚀 In my AIR app, I created a Jinja template that works with any arbitrary 1-file React app

atuin.sh has been a game changer for me. It overrides pressing the up arrow key and shows recent commands, but you can start typing to fuzzy match previous entries. Otherwise pressing up and enter works the same (run last command).

Switched a small project (913 LOC) from mypy to @astral_sh's ty: 1. Local CI checks non-cached went from ~31 seconds to under 1 second 2. Same checks on GH actions went from ~30 seconds to ~15 seconds I respect mypy--prototyping types is hard. Yet I look forward to moving on.
