Addressing 173 tickets worth of feedback from @adamj.eu. The unbelievable amount of focus on his part is astounding. He's amazing! Been working to knock out tickets daily. The more I work these tickets the more my imposter syndrome is triggered. Doing my best to turn that feeling into inspiration.

Every time I walk down Ayala Avenue in Makati this is what I see in my head. I think of all the traffic driving right past dying retail replaced with booming restaurants and businesses. Imagine the surge in collectable retail taxes for the city.

The differences between US and British English can be charming. In the US we commonly write: "Be familiar with X" In the UK they commonly write: "Familiarize yourself with X" Both are correct English but in only England there is a strong difference in tone. Ping fellow author @adamj.eu 😅

Confession time: I used to be addicted to pop-tarts. I had to fight the urge to buy a box or pack whenever I saw them. Then I would binge eat them until I got sick. I'm proud to say that in 2025 I was pop-tart free. Here's to staying clean for another year.

Air 0.43 has dropped, which uses FastAPI 0.125.0 or higher. FastAPI is finally off supporting Python 3.8 and Pydantic v1! In theory this shouldn't affect anything, but edge cases may appear. If something breaks, we'll make fixing bugs caused by this update our priority. ☁️

In converting Two Scoops of Django's LaTeX to Markdown, Gemini sometimes uses stolen copies as citations. I keep having to tell it to stop using citations, only rely on the sources I provide. That's to help ensure that the LLM isn't adding slop, just converting formats.

Amazing food in Davao, both outside the conference and inside. What is it about this town that everything tastes so good?

The MCs at PyCon Davao have amazing voices. The art and design is lovely. The local food delicious and unique. The people so friendly.

The bugfix was an impressive catch by a relatively new coder. I love it when bright, new people find stuff us more experienced people miss.

Isn't there a reason why you can't just configure the Django ORM to work inside a FastAPI project? I used to do it on toy apps but for some reason I can't remember didn't do it on anything with substantial traffic.

This release was a lot of fun effort, and is a display of the rapidly growing Air community. The .htmx object implementation was inspired by @adamj.eu's incredible work on django-htmx.

Well this is exciting.

As someone who has always had to fight the foolish urge to clean up HTML output formatting when he does web stuff, this is a dream come true.

Coming in Air 0.32, released hopefully tomorrow! To make reading HTML output easier, we will have features for converting dense HTML to pretty printed HTML! All credit goes to github.com/tallerasaf for the PR and @willmcgugan.bsky.social for the rich library its built on.

Today I started over on a project in a new branch/PR. Doing so allowed me to go super fast because: 1. I now had a deep understanding of the spec 2. In the new branch I only had to good stuff 3. I don't need to worry about git cleanup, it's all new 4. It forced me to take a break
