Where I disagree is I do not think you can separate China’s partial and emerging “electrostate” model from its enormous coal industry, nor do I think you should ignore that China has leaned back *into* coal since 2021. Neither the US nor the Chinese energy systems are entirely laudable end-goals.

I think this is right. China is all-in on solar, batteries, etc., while the U.S. is absolutely refusing to leave the 20th century. Once you dig up and burn a barrel of oil or a ton of coal, it's gone—you've gotta dig up more. Solar panels will produce power for decades. We're going to get wrecked.

A quick warning about gas starting in May, your fuel will last even shorter durations bc they will be diluting it even more. E15 gasoline can now be sold. 15% ethanol based gas evaporates faster and creates more smog in warmer months.
