This looks super cool. Get up to 75% cost-savings of using spot instances without data loss or interruption. My mental model of what this does is the equivalent of vSphere vMotion, but for spot instance workloads running in the Cloud.

Hard won #eBPF lesson: bpf_redirect doesn’t work between interfaces where the sender has an xdp program loaded in native mode and the other has one loaded in generic mode (only with some cloud/os pairs)

Now that #KubeCon is done it’s time to head to #SC24 in Atlanta! Need to bring the gospel of live migration to the HPC folks…

We need a new type of compute primitive. VMs, Containers, and Serverless Functions They all have their pros and cons and every time you’re picking one you need to them. We need something that can start fast like a serverless function, can be long-running like a VM, and as portable as a Container.

Today's #DailyFLOSSCommit: I finished the docs and released #Deliverance, my battle-tested scientific document publishing system! Its a really neat way to publish papers, lab reports, memos etc. in a simple, reproducible fashion by merging the best of Markdown and LaTeX ^^

I've been benchmarking HTTP/3 or QUIC's 0-RTT TLS tonight, and I'm really impressed. Compared to HTTP/2 or 1.1, I'm getting almost half the latency (~15ms with a 12ms ping vs. almost 30ms with non-0 RTT), and that is on a real-world deployment. Exciting!
