A great example of AI not seeing the forest for the trees: I'm writing an AsciiDoc parser and a Claude generated test for inline styles was: "*bold*, _italics_, `monospace`". So what did Claude generate to parse that? Code that parses a string with styles in that exact order.

In week 5 of a large scale experiment with letting generative AI code, where I try to take my hands off the wheel as often as possible. One insight the last week is that AI can't usually see the forest for the trees, instead it just sees an infinite sequence of similar trees.

I'm sitting in a (quite nice) airport foot court and was just thinking about how we all know that smart phones changed how people spend their downtime (glancing about that's true) and if AI/voice is next platform, what will this food court look like? 75% of the people talking to the air?

I've been a startup CEO (again) for bit now and I can say that one of the most important decisions thus far was having
@aphoenix.bsky.social

Headed on a long-ish trip in a couple weeks so decided to try out traveling a pair of XReal One AR/monitor glasses (I haven't tried glasses like this at all yet). Playing with them today, discovered an unexpected benefit: *Reduced* eye strain than normal because my eyes can focus further out!

After trying multiple times, Iām putting out a request: use a AI coding tool to build āa simple document viewer that runs with bunā. Iām looking at how the tools work and every time I try this, Claude gets completely lost just trying to get the most basic thing to run. Screen recording is best!
