To add to our "wtf is this summer" I ended up spending over 5 hours at the emergency vet with my cat Midna to find out our poor girl has a stomach bug. She has been resting and recovering, but its heartbreaking to see her not be her spunky self. But luckily she has meds and should be on the mend ❤️🐱

We've been trying to give Midna lots of play and attention that the queen deserves. So here are some great shots of our lil baby

Coming into the last month of starting my days like this. Soon I'll be back to work teaching Grade 3 at a brand new school. It's been a tough summer. Midna has taken the mantel of my reading buddy very seriously, but I know we both still miss our boy way too much. ❤️

While this has been one of the hardest weeks of my life with the loss of my cat, Kuro. I'm so thankful for the amazing friends we have. Friends who personally messaged every few days to check up on us. Or some who were able to come by and drop off food or care packages. It has all meant so much.

Yesterday we lost our best boy. I will miss him every single day.

It's kind of disappointing that the TSN cameramen couldn't respect the RedBlacks player that was injured and asked to be not filmed. Dude said, No cameras, so y'all cut it to a close-up of his face???

It took us two years, two months but @raediantsunburst.bsky.social and I finally finished watching (or re-watching) the Star Wars chronological order list. Many incredible gems here (Andor, Clone Wars). Next up for us in the ancillary, anthology, and non-canon series.

We have a class playlist that I start at the beginning of the year. Lately, the kids (g.6) have been getting into jams I was into when younger - such as Nirvana, Weezer, etc. But lately, whenever Teenage Dirtbag comes on, they all start belting it out and its my fav (clean version lol)

As someone who has read and now seen both A Wrinkle in Time and Wild Robot Wild Robot movie was way more disappointing. They took all the magic that made the book SO different from others. Wrinkle in Time was not well loved when it came out, but it was closer to the book for sure!

I had a student who was not interested in reading ask about finding Twilight. After going through my old books and different 2nd hand stores, I got the first 3 for my classroom. Today, when going through their work, I found this art. While it was a good laugh, I was happy to see the like for reading

With my grade 6 students, I try to show the importance of silent reading every day by reading with them. Yesterday, a student asked if I was reading the bible. I was very close to saying yes 👀

Since I moved to NL I have dreamed of having a fireplace. We finally were able to find one that @jmbcafe.bsky.social and I both loved. I'm in heaven. So then we celebrated with Star Trek and games 🥰

I read 11 books for January!! Started off strong but started slowing down near the end of the month Also, The Teacher is awful, and I will never recommend it. 😤
