I noticed while trying to research hypnosis is that anyone credibly researching quickly drops the terminology of hypnosis, because it's overly broad and non-falsifiable. I personally believe that insisting on "hypnosis" as a term is mostly about preserving the just-so authority of hypnotists.

Maintaining a zotero library and properly citing things in this book really highlights for me the massive delta between good standards of knowledge reproduction that I adhere to professionally and like, how people do things in my kink community. So often it's an opinionated game of telephone

so my article adaptation of my framing class is now going to be a book tentatively titled "Empowering Subjects Through Changing Hypnosis" and i'm gonna scrap (or render as an appendix) all the bits about using framing to enhance scenes so I can focus entirely on subject empowering narratives

I'm slowly coming to until conclusion that ethical HypnoKink demands of us to teach subjects to distinguish fantasy narratives from how hypnosis actually works. If you teach a subject to genuinely think of hypnosis as mind control or "programming the subconscious" that is unethical

The important thing to remember about hypnosis is that when it's hot and sexy it's definitely totally 100% real but when it's causing you distress or harm it's so important to remember that hypnosis isn't real.
