Spotted a toad while putting the bin out for collection this evening. I saw a remarkable resemblance to someone in the news.

Found a tiny little toad this morning on my walk with Monty dog under Novers Hill in #Shropshire. Size of my thumbnail. Might have been a prince of course but I didn't kiss it to find out. Would have been rude to as I hadn't brushed my teeth yet.

Missed 'em. Those #Shropshire faeries are really tricky to catch and flew off just as I was lining up the perfect shot this morning.

Racing again this week, for Paramount Cycle Racing Team. 10 miles TT. First time out on a 1970s Harry Quinn I have restored. Lovely to ride but not as fast as modern bikes (and younger riders). Came last but loved it.

Lawful protest or terrorists blocking the road? Actually was a theatre troupe who travelled with a LeJog ride I did in 1990. The angry scarecrows in a field on the Wenlock Edge and the alien tourists inspecting our campsite in Upton on Severn were some other memorable acts.

Was representing a candidate outside a polling station (Atcham, #Shropshire) this morning. So quiet. Three or four voters in a couple of hours. Maybe lots of postal votes? I'll be at the count tomorrow. Will be interesting to see the turnout. Looks like every vote could really make a difference.

Up at 5:30 to go racing for Paramount CRT. The Mid Shropshire Wheelers 25 miles Time Trial. Didn't come last.

Jonathan's Rock above the Batch Valley in #Shropshire this morning. Found a new (to me) track up there from the gully, which is is getting a bit easier to navigate as the terrain dries out. Starting to see a few more lambs up on top.

BBC Radio 4's Any Questions in the village hall at All Stretton in the #Shropshire Hills this evening was good. I certainly didn't agree with some points made but it's important that this kind of debate can happen here.

Wild ponies on Novers Hill above All Stretton. There are one or two new lambs about too but we didn't see any today.

Morning all. Hope everyone recovering from any festive excess. It's a beautiful morning here. Sun rising over Caer Caradoc and starting to burn off the fog in the Stretton Gap.

Sometimes it's the little things that are the most interesting on my expeditions with Monty Dog. Today it was the tree litter blown down by the storm in the woods under Novers Hill.

Having a social media clear out. Binned LinkedIn, Twitter / X, Mastodon, Threads and Instagram. Sticking with FB. Not a huge fan but useful for some Cycling Clubs I am in. Keeping Discord, which is great for race radio when riding virtually. Staying here on BlueSky for the foreseeable.

I love a sandwich for my lunch.

My boots went for a walk from home up to Jonathan's Rock on the Mynd after breakfast. Monty Dog and I tagged along for the ride.

Severn Trent Water not allowed to pump any more shit into the rivers Kemp and Clun as more houses get built, so plans to pipe it 4 miles to the Onny instead. Better alternative to dodging the regulations and ruining this stream would be to improve the Waste Water Treatment Works in Bishop's Castle?

Makes a change to be up in the Shropshire hills without stormy weather or deep snow. The Ents have been on the march above Cwm Dale and are not troubled by puny human fences.

Good to be racing virtually again after an enforced couple of months off following surgery to my bottom bracket area. Not gonna win any medals but looking forward to pinning a number on my back and riding some time trials outside again next season.

My Parliamentary office was vandalised last night. Fortunately we have high security, alarms and CCTV cameras. I have reported the incident to the police and will be providing the camera footage as evidence to support any prosecution.
