I also decided to lean into my style and dyed my hair orange (my daughter’s inspiration).

This year, I have grown my lab and found my groove in terms of mentoring. I’m so proud of what I (and we) have accomplished so far and will continue to do.

I need to use this platform more often. Alas, I’m here. I’ve been soaking up all the fun fall moments in this final year before going up for tenure.

Toddlers are hysterical. Mine (Q) is 3 and instead of just screeching when he’s annoyed or doesn’t like/want something, he says “no thanks.” After putting him to bed, I hear him getting his toys set up and a “no thanks” to something in there 😆

Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings. But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.
