Re ai and the creative process I spent roughly 3 days working on a local LLM with silly Tavern to create a “chat bot“ of a character. And it works, and the output is pretty close to what I would want the character to say. But it’s not fun. I’m not inspired. It’s completely soulless.

Using genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

Also on "well isn't *spell checking* AI???" smug arguments: Every spell checker on every software I use to write has gotten worse and stupid as more and more ML features have been added. It literally cannot do better than a simple strict check for words not in a dictionary.
