Shameless self promotion, but hopefully forgivable, given the moment weâre in right now. Military ethics is under grave threat. SecDef Hegseth is perverting the âwarrior ethosâ and putting the mental, moral, and spiritual health of all U.S. service members in jeopardy.

A New Bridge Links the Strange Math of Infinity to Computer Science | Quanta Magazine
Descriptive set theorists study the niche mathematics of infinity. Now, theyâve shown that their problems can be rewritten in the concrete language of algorithms.

A phenomenal reflection that will resonate with many veterans. Many of my Marines were repeatedly fired upon but did not return fire due to loss of PID, and the ensuing risk of hitting noncombatants. They did the right thing, but will never rate a combat action ribbon, and that became a burden.

A challenging book in every sense of the term, but also one of the best readings of Clausewitzâs âOn Warâ, who is, and I agree, decidedly not Hegelian.

History is supposedly written by the victors. Sima Qian, author of China's original historical classic, showed it could also be written by the condemned. Read Jeremiah Jenne's essay on the urtext for Chinese history, the Shiji or Records of the Grand Historian:

I finally got around to reading this article that was posted on here a bit ago - and while I agree with the sentiments, the actual structure of the argument was so bad that I ended up wanting to replace all of our GOs with AI by the end of it:
