I also make a bunch of bespoke (for lack of a better term) neomoji. Haven't quite gotten around to releasing a full set yet but I have contributed to neogob and neobot.

I'm finally playing around with the modes and routines on my Samsung phone (an S24 Ultra). The automation options are pretty darn neat and have come a long way with ease of use. It's a shame AI is trying to replace all this with some opaque bullshit.

Democrats can't just say "bombing hospitals is wrong". They have to complain that the money could be better used on a means tested healthcare tax subsidy.

... Is that why the government wants ChatGPT so badly? It's a machine that turns deranged losers into weapons and they'd get to lay off so many workers who currently do that as a day job.

The KRG in Northern Iraq may not have the full independence they deserve or want but they are a democratic semi-autonomous government that is legally and constitutionally recognized by Iraq. They may not last much longer because the US abandoned them and democracy is fragile but they exist.

The funny thing here is that there are millenia of debate on what consciousness is. There are dozens within academia. But all the ones I know of include metacognition—a thing Claude obviously, objectively, demonstrably lacks.

My desktop was first built in 2013 for a workstation board that holds a pair of LGA 2011 chips with 16 channels of DDR3 ram. Even a device that ancient has been hit by these RAM shortages.

One thing I don't get about
#Stargate
is how the rest of the SG teams get by without an anthropologist. And if they all have civilian contractor anthropologists, why doesn't Daniel hang out with them? Why aren't they writing papers together (even if they can't publish for a decade)?

Come Catastrophe or Wake of Vultures got added to the archives in
#Arknights
. Go play it. It's seriously one of the best Arknights stories and that's a very high bar. It wasn't as popular on CN because it was the kind of pure Americana that's hard to appreciate without familiarity of the genre.

Golden bat is a science wizard who looks like a golden skeleton with his power being the ability to do anything (except talk). We don't know his motives, the source of his powers, or his backstory just that he laughs in the face of villains when kicking their ass. He's public domain. Reboot him!

Drinking more fluids has definitely helped with this cold. Unfortunately, I don't don't think I can put more fluids in me by drinking. Time to go fall asleep in a hot shower.

Our interceptors cost between 100× and 1,000× as much as the things they need to shoot down. That's not (all) military waste, it's just harder to make a missile that can catch and hit a missile vs a stationary target. That dovetails into the second issue: they can make 100 per month, we make 10.

Fertility deities are a distinct class of gods that are looked down upon by the rest. Their function is necessary—birth is literally a miracle—but because they spend so much power on it, they don't have much left over to jockey for power. Whatever role they played in creation is lost to time.

Human is a blanket term for the core races tall fellow, halfling, dwarf, elf, orc, centaur, mer, orc, ursines, canids, and all their hybrids or fractionals. Anatomical differences can make things complicated but they are inherently compatible if other conditions are met. 1/2

As much as Democrats love West Wing, they definitely didn't watch season 7. I don't blame them, it's nonsense top to bottom but since it's the basis of their political vision, they really should have watched it.

When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946. In 2007, the US president was born in 1946. In 2017, the US president was born in 1946. And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.

I still haven't forgiven Crockett for her "governor hot wheels" attack on Abbott. When Trump mocked a disabled reporter, many Democrats rightfully attacked him for it. Crockett doesn't deserve any less scorn. Her refusal to apologize is another red flag.

I'm rewatching DS9 with my mom and I'm starting to wonder if I actually like it. My impression overall has always been that it was my favorite Trek series but now I'm reminded that that's except for Klingon, Ferengi, or mirror universe episodes. And that's a lot of them.

EXCLUSIVE: At more than 30 installations, U.S. commanders told troops the war on Iran is a Christian war. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been “inundated” with more than 110 complaints. One NCO said they were told the U.S. war is to bring about Armageddon and the return of Jesus…

I wish that we had more accurate news coverage on whether Mir-Hossein Mousavi was targeted or not. He has been under house arrest since 2009 and informally leads the Iranian opposition. He has been active in the past month trying to destabilize the regime. If he was a target, that gives it away.

As bizarre as it sounds, this bill is a good thing (with obvious problems). We want age verification on the user's device. If my device can attest my age in a way that is sufficient for legal liability, they don't have an excuse to demand Verisign or Persona to do the same.

I watched a bit of MSNow yesterday to try to find out about the Iran bombing. They brought Tom Nichols on as a commentator. I assumed their next guest would be a talking head from the left or at least center to balance him out. They brought on a right wing war hawk instead.

If one of America's victims thought killing me was a means to liberating their people from oppression, I'd accept it. I may not be doing much to help the current regime but I'm not deposing them either so I at least kinda deserve it. I would not extend that to bombing schools in my neighborhood.

How does having a lot of social media followers make you an expert in evolutionary genomics? It doesn't. She's talking about a paper she didn't even read the abstract of. Here's better coverage by a woman who did ask experts. They opine consent was unlikely.

Did you know that Jeffery Epstein got his start in politics with Iran-Contra? Shortly after leaving Bear-Sterns, his knowledge of tax havens and skill making money disappear were tapped to make arms deals through the Saudis.
