Sad but you know what? We've spent the weeks being told how sparkling, free-flowing PSG would wipe the floor with us and in the event they couldn't score against us open play. So proud of these players. And I honestly believe we'll do it next year

I thought I'd make a thread of some of the things that people who care about trans rights people and human rights could do to help. We really need more cis people stepping up. • Post about it sometimes. Make sure people who see you online know that you're aware of what's going on, and you care.

Not the least cool thing about yesterday's celebrations was the fact that a representative of Arsenal's Downs Syndrome team gave out the medals. Got an Arsenal-supporting son who plays with his local DSA team and it means a LOT.

So Andy Burnham will support Mahmood on immigration and "implement the EHCR guidance in a compassionate way". If anyone can show me how to squeeze this fag paper between him and Starmer do let me know.

This answers part of the question I have been asking myself: what would the Graun list have looked liked 50, 80, 100, 150 years ago? (20, and 4 from the supplementary list at the end)

Force the government to rip up the EHRC’s transphobic guidance
It’s been a year since the Supreme Court's decision that accelerated the rollback of trans rights in the UK. It’s been a difficult year, but it’s also been a year of coming together and fighting back....

Since USAID was axed, the Coaching for Life project has been one of the only sources of support for children in the largest refugee camp in the Middle East. If you can help, however little, please do.

Such clarity here - "separate the art and the artist" means completely decontextualising the art, and it's quite hard to find anyone actually wants to do that.

Grew up watching a Trans woman win Big Brother, hearing music with lyrics that celebrated Trans people, seeing folk flourish as themselves. Now we’re going backwards I will ALWAYS stand against the politicisation and degradation of human rights. Solidarity to our Trans family 🏳️⚧️ 💪🏻

Not sure if you've seen this about the Dr who has complained to the GMC about Hilary Cass, but a signal boost would be terrific. She's collecting testimony from affected people, to put it in front of the council.

When I have posted this in the past, people inevitably have asked "Did she come home?" so I will not wait until the end of the thread to tell you she did (she's still a nomad, but less so, as she hits her middle years). The story can be found here:

I thought it might be nice to give away my last 2 signed hardbacks of my novel 1983, with two lovely linocut hares by my mum. All you have to do to enter is repost this (& leave a reply). The book's been called "Stranger Things rewritten by Kurt Vonnegut and Sue Townsend”. Extract in the replies.

Today Nottingham's Bell Inn becoming the only pub ever to refuse to serve me. For having a little Trans Pride flag flying from my handbag. They kindly assured me that they would be the same "for both sides". Honestly I'm tempted to blame the BBC for lending respectability to this nonsense.

On 25 April 1945 the National Committee for the Liberation of Northern Italy ordered a general uprising of the armed resistance movement against the nazi-fascist occupation. Today Italy celebrates Liberation Day to remind us that it's always worth fighting against fascism.

So both main parties think it's a good idea, as a matter of principle, to force people to choose between caring for an aged parent or living with their kids. A big thank you to Kendall for making it so clear.
