I don't mean to split hairs, but there is a major difference between "indiscriminate bombing" and bombing a specific target based on intel that turns out to be wrong. The former is reckless, stupid, dangerous, and prohibited - the latter is unfathomably tragic yet allowed under the laws of war.

Mistaken identities, friendly fire casualties, and collateral damage are awful and tragic and always among the worst realities of war. They're also practically inevitable in any war - let alone a war being fought in a dense urban setting.
