The reporting was so bad that LOTO and half the prominent GCs all started celebrating the 'victory' (and spreading the misinfo in the process) and then had to issue clarifications about how it's actually a terrible ruling once they learned the detail. Honestly astounding levels of biased reporting.

Being a trans ally in this country is hard. No question. But the key attribute of it is the fortitude to resist. It's no good knowing what's right if you let yourself be bullied by the powerful, or even (incorrectly interpreted) unjust laws. To say no, you get us this way or you don't get us.

A clear weakness of the framing rhetoric of 'evidence based policymaking' in politics. It allows for bad actors to set ridiculously high or low evidence thresholds and then invoke the authority of science or rationality for their evil ends. Not new, but ever clearer.

To be really clear, Sussex ICB threatened, in writing, to close a Brighton GP practice serving 25,000 patients, purely to bully them into passing over child records. The GP did not want to pass on these records, because they understood the acute risk (& reality) of harm to trans adolescents.
